Recently on 23 December one of my sites was bombarded with spam, then I started thinking about combating of Spam into that blog , even though I use Askimet as the plugin and Spam Karma as well on some sites but still those plugins do not combat all the spam . For the same reason I Started looking at Wordpress Codex and many more places to combat spam more effeciently , I got some information regarding the .htaccess files as well and I have started using this as well.

Now those who among you all receive spam from various addresses please mention IP addresses in the comment’s section so that I may block them. As these IP addresses are listed here , they will not see my website’s in near future in any case because it will give them a 403 Server Error.

I have edited the htaccess file, those who want the htaccess file , please mention it in the comments section as well I will give you the details as well.

   With the growing use of Dynamic IP’s nowadays, do you think this way is an effective preventive measure against spam? You may even be blocking out those genuine visitors who might be randomly assigned any of these IP’s ?
